Madueke Problems Leading To Chelsea Exit As Arsenal Set To Seal Move

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a £52 million fee with Chelsea for the signature of Noni Madueke – and the issues that have blighted his stay at Stamford have now been revealed.

To increase Mikel Arteta’s options on both wings, Madueke is expected to become the most recent player to move from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates.

After reaching a personal agreement on a move across the city of London, which has caused controversy among the supporters, he will sign a five-year contract with Arsenal.

Whether Madueke will play in the first team regularly with the Gunners than he does with the Blues is still up in the air.

Despite making 27 of a possible 38 Premier League starts, the 23-year-old seems to have lost favor with manager Enzo Maresca.

Madueke’s Problems At Chelsea

According to The Mirror, Madueke’s behavior and discipline have also been questioned, with Maresca dropping him twice for allegedly subpar performance in training.

Last season, the Italian said that his decision to leave him out of the matchday squad that traveled to Fulham on Boxing Day was a “technical decision” after excluding him from the squad that played away at Aston Villa.

Maresca also stated that he wanted a “immediate” improvement from the player, even after he scored in a 3-1 victory over Wolves in January, saying the player “stopped playing” after scoring the game’s third goal.

“He can improve in the last third, but probably after he scored the goal he stopped playing,” he said. “This has to be one thing we need to improve immediately. Never happy if you score one or two – always you have to go for more.”
