Shea Lacey has long been seen as a promising young player at Manchester United, and this summer might be a crucial time in the youngster’s growth.
As United resumed preseason training this week, Lacey was one of several young players there with the senior squad.
Due to a string of injuries throughout the previous season, the gifted teenager was closely watched. Despite playing little minutes at the academy level, he was given a senior appearance off the bench in the loss to ASEAN All-Stars as the Red Devils travelled to Asia for the postseason tour.

That demonstrated the 18-year-old’s skill with the ball and gave a taste of what he can provide.
Last year, Lacey jumped at the chance to sign a professional contract, and according to Manchester Evening News, Old Trafford insiders think he might make his first team debut.
The playmaker made his debut for United’s Under-18 team at the age of 14, and while he can play a number of positions, his most recent outings have been on the right wing.
The Red Devils youth coaches like to push young players who can play in a variety of roles.
He has been compared to Manchester City and England midfielder, Phil Foden, and his long-term career may lie as an attacking midfielder.
