The 27-year-old was loaned to Villa in January, scoring four goals and providing six assists across 17 appearances in all competitions.
He impressed during key moments, notably netting twice in the FA Cup quarter-final and shining against PSG in the Champions League.
Manager Unai Emery praised Rashford after the PSG tie but stopped short of confirming any long-term transfer plans at the time.
“It’s too early to decide,” Emery said. “He’s playing well, and if he’s happy, we’re happy. But let’s see.”
Despite his performances, Villa ultimately decided not to activate the £40 million option to buy Rashford permanently from United.
On Monday, Villa released a statement confirming Rashford, Marco Asensio, and Axel Disasi would all return to their parent clubs.
The club thanked them for their contributions and wished them well, ending Rashford’s short but notable stint in Birmingham, reports Standard.
United had hoped the deal would help fund Ruben Amorim’s planned summer rebuild after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
Rashford’s Old Trafford future remains uncertain, with Barcelona reportedly considering a move for the England international in the coming weeks.
