Alexander-Arnold Sparks Fresh Liverpool Backlash After Real Madrid Training Session

Trent Alexander-Arnold has further enraged Liverpool supporters after claiming that he wasn’t accustomed to the “high-quality” training sessions he has so far experienced at Real Madrid.

The right-back is now in America with his new team, who are getting ready for Wednesday’s first Club World Cup matchup against Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League.

Opinion on Merseyside has already been split over Alexander-Arnold’s decision to depart Anfield this summer.

After he confirmed his choice, Liverpool supporters jeered him afterwards, and former manager Jurgen Klopp later denounced the fans.

Madrid paid £8.4 million to get him released ahead of schedule for the FIFA competition, which allayed the club’s fury over not getting a fee.

Alexander-Arnold delivered a prepared statement at his unveiling in the Spanish city, speaking nearly flawless Spanish. Supporters of his former team were not pleased with that and accused him of spending months planning his move to Madrid.

After participating in training in Miami, he is currently under criticism once more. He was asked about his experience with the squad training during an interview with his club’s official social media accounts.

“High quality,” he replied as reported by the Daily Express. “The ball moves very fast. It’s different from what I’m used to, but it’s good. I’m enjoying the change and being part of it. I’m happy to be here.”

On Wednesday night, the 26-year-old is anticipated to start for Real Madrid against Al-Hilal. In their group matches, Madrid will also face Austrian team Red Bull Salzburg and Mexican side Pachuca.
