Arsenal have made a surprising approach for Al-Nassr centre-back Aymeric Laporte, according to a report from Spanish outlet AS.

The 31-year-old defender, who left Manchester City in 2023, currently earns £397,000 a week and could be open to returning.
Laporte’s time in Saudi Arabia has been relatively successful, though injuries limited him to 30 appearances in the 2024/25 season.
Despite that, he still managed to score five goals and remains a high-profile presence in defence for Al-Nassr in Saudi Pro League.
Arsenal are one of several European clubs interested, alongside Athletic Bilbao, Marseille, Inter Milan and Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
Al-Nassr would reportedly want to recoup part of the €27.5m (£23.6m) they paid for the Spanish international last summer.
Laporte won 12 major trophies during his time at Manchester City, including the famous treble in the 2022/23 campaign, reports Give Me Sport.
With 180 appearances and six Premier League titles, his experience could prove vital to Arsenal’s defensive ambitions this season.
The Gunners have already extended Gabriel Magalhães’ contract and signed Riccardo Calafiori to reinforce their defensive line.
Further signings, including Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and a marquee striker, could define Arsenal’s title push in 2025.
