Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha scored in the first half as UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 on Sunday in the FIFA Club World Cup.
PSG trounced Atlético at the Rose Bowl in their first match since defeating Inter Milan 5-0 to claim their first Champions League trophy on May 31.
Senny Mayulu and Lee Kang-in scored against 10-man Atlético in the second half of the European powers’ meeting in front of 80,619 people at the 1994 World Cup stadium. The game was one of the most anticipated in the group stage of the first 32-team Club World Cup, and treble-winning PSG performed admirably under the limelight.

PSG dominated possession early on, and Ruiz converted from the penalty spot in the 19th minute. The Spanish midfielder, who has long been desired by Atletico, beat Jan Oblak with a beautiful strike into the far corner.
Vitinha scored in injury time, assisted by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for his second goal of the half.
Julian Alvarez appeared to respond for Atletico in the second half, but the goal was ruled out after video assistance referee (VAR) judged Koke fouled Desire Doue in the buildup.
