Arsenal are stepping up their pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres, preparing a second offer worth over €70m (£60m+) for the Sporting striker.

The Gunners’ initial €65m bid was rejected, but they remain determined to sign the ‘extraordinary’ Sweden international ahead of rivals.
Manchester United are also interested, aiming to reunite Gyokeres with former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim, now in charge at Old Trafford.
Gyokeres thrived under Amorim in Portugal, scoring prolifically and helping Sporting secure two consecutive league titles since joining from Coventry.
Arsenal’s relationship with Sporting remains strong, and talks are expected to continue amid growing optimism from the striker’s representatives over a deal.
Sporting president Frederico Varandas is willing to negotiate, although the Portuguese club won’t accept an offer far below their valuation.
Arsenal are also exploring a move for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, but the Slovenian’s €80m clause may prove too steep, reports Give Me Sport.
Mikel Arteta’s side are actively seeking a marquee forward this summer, with Gyokeres emerging as a top candidate due to consistency.
The 26-year-old scored 54 goals in 52 games last season, drawing attention from Juventus and Saudi clubs alongside Premier League giants.
Arsenal hope their improved bid seals the deal before other suitors firm up their interest in the lethal frontman.
