Barcelona’s Manager Admits New Transfer After Liverpool’s Reaction To Luis Diaz’s Approachs

After Liverpool rejected a bid for Luis Diaz, Barcelona sporting director Deco stated that his team is still looking for a forward. The Colombian international was targeted by the La Liga powerhouses earlier this month, but the Reds have no intention of selling the 28-year-old this summer, according to the ECHO at the time.

In addition to Barcelona, the Saudi Pro League has also shown interest in Diaz. A year earlier, Manchester City also shown interest in him.

Deco acknowledges that increasing his team’s attacking alternatives is a top objective for the Catalan team this summer, however it’s unknown how much Barca was willing to spend for Diaz.

He told Globoesporte, “I believe we have enough balance, both in midfield and defense.”

Some players will continue to develop. For example, Gavi, who is making a full recovery from an injury, will be much better in the preseason of the next year.

Marc Bernal, who suffered an injury early in the season, is another.

“We are working with Ronald Araujo and Dani Olmo to prevent them from getting hurt again.

“What we can do in the market will determine how we attack. However, it might be the only industry where we can tell when a player is absent.

Diaz acknowledged in a statement earlier this month that his representatives are talking about leaving Anfield.

While on international duty, the forward, who finished the previous season with 17 goals in 50 games, acknowledged that he is keeping all of his options open as his Liverpool contract nears its expiration.

“I’ve always said that I’m very happy at Liverpool,” he remarked. Since day one, they have given me a warm welcome.
