Departing Manchester United left-back Sam Murray, who announced his departure from the club this summer, thanked everyone for their support.
When his contract ends at the end of June, Murray will be one of nine players leaving Old Trafford, according to United’s end-of-season retained list, which was released on Monday.
Murray has been told he will be released at the end of the month, along with six other academy players. In 2017, he left Huddersfield Town to join United.
During his time at United, the left-back, who will turn 21 in September, was a consistent member of the team’s Under-21 and Under-18 teams.

He played a crucial role as a left-back for the Under-18s in their 2022 FA Youth Cup victory.
According to The Manchester Evening News, the 20-year-old posted a farewell message on his Instagram page.
He said: “After seven years, my time at Manchester United has come to an end.
“I would like to thank everyone at the club for your support, especially my coaches and teammates over the years.
“It’s been a privilege to represent this club, and I will forever be grateful for the opportunities and experience this club has given me. I wish everyone the best of luck for the future.”
In December 2022, former United manager Erik ten Hag took Murray to Spain for the team’s midseason training camp and friendlies against Real Betis and Cadiz. In May 2023, Murray signed his first professional contract with United.
Murray was given a starting left-back position when Ten Hag took him to Norway for the preseason opener against Rosenborg last summer. But he never played for the team in a competitive match.
