Hazard admits Chelsea could have played ‘better’ football during Man City win

Eden Hazard was delighted with Chelsea’s win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge but admitted his team could have played better football.

The Belgian international and his team-mates ground out a result against Pep Guardiola’s side to maintain their seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Hazard scored both goals for Antonio Conte’s men, with Sergio Aguero notching for the visitors, and put in a match-winning display.

But despite being happy with the victory, Hazard insisted there’s room for improvement.

‘It’s a big win, of course,’ he said after the game. ‘I don’t know if the way we played was beautiful. But the most important thing is to win games.

‘The way we play can be better. But it was a good win against a great team.

‘It’s always a real battle when you play against Man City. In the first half we did everything. The result is 2-1 and we’re happy today.

‘I try to do my best and help the team to win games. We have eight games to play and we want to win the title. That’s our target.

‘We are nearly there but there’s a long way to go. We are ready for everything.’
