According to reports, Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku has expressed interest in joining Bayern Munich before the deadline. The club has already signed eight new players this summer, including Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Estevao, Dario Essugo, Kendry Paez, and Mamadou Sarr.
There are suggestions that Chelsea still wants to sign more players, but they are looking to transfer certain players on to make place for new arrivals.
Nkunku is one of the most notable players they are attempting to offload, having failed to impress during his two seasons at Chelsea due to injuries.
The forward joined in 2023 from RB Leipzig for £52 million, and Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims Nkunku is ‘keen’ to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this summer.
Plettenberg wrote on X: “Understand that a contract between Christopher #Nkunku and FC Bayern till Deadline Day is possible, as mentioned on our broadcast yesterday. Much now hinges on whether Bayern re-enters the battle for Nick Woltemade. Nkunku is eager to join Bayern, but he has numerous options.
‘There was a verbal understanding with Bayern in January. Eberl enjoys playing as a No. 9, No. 10, and on the wing. RB Leipzig is open to loan offers. Chelsea/Nkunku want a permanent contract.

Frank Leboeuf says Nkunku’s struggle to make an impact at Chelsea is a “sad affair” because he was “outstanding” for France and RB Leipzig.
Leboeuf stated: “Christopher Nkunku has no future at Chelsea. It’s unfortunate because he’s a gifted player who excelled for both the French national team and RB Leipzig. However, he has yet to settle fully at the club and has suffered injuries.
